Baby Steps

Baby Steps

Ayşe woke up in the morning. She stared at her image in the mirror. She promised herself again what she had promised and broken so many times. "I'm going on a diet on Monday morning. This time I'm determined. Monday is two days away. Then I'll eat everything I won't eat while dieting, and then I'll start dieting.
This is where the illusion of the human begins. She thinks that if she eats everything she wants for those two days, she won't crave for the following days. However, they did not have very pleasant experiences in this subject. But she headed for the kitchen anyway. She made herself a nice, high-calorie breakfast. Then she called her mother and asked her to make her the famous pastry. But she should have made an experience out of what she had been through before. This method did not strengthen willpower, it weakened it even more.
Once you have decided on something, you should start immediately without delay. In other words, the work that starts without putting a deadline in between is fruitful and progresses more easily.
Ayşe would start her diet on most Mondays and would break it after two days, as she always did. Then she would start again. Each time she would say, "I missed it today, no, it's gone this week, I'll start next Monday" and she would never reach that result. After breakfast, she went to the living room with the accompanying guilt. She took pen and paper and prepared a long list. She pinned the list on the refrigerator:
* A weekly diet program starting with 1 boiled egg, 3 olives, plenty of greens at 09.00 in the morning.
* Walking 10 thousand steps every day
* The goal is to lose 15 kg in four months until summer
She made the list imagining that she had lost weight and looked beautiful and healthy. While preparing the new list, she used the lists prepared by the dietitians she had visited before and could not apply. She wanted the result very much. However, she was avoiding the reasons she needed to achieve the result she wanted and never looked at them. More precisely, as she looked at the list, what she was going to do was growing in her eyes. This time she couldn't find the motivation she needed.
The Experiential Design Teaching says; "Big goals are achieved with small steps."
Because one cannot change all bad habits at once, one cannot achieve what he/she wants immediately. He/she should start with the smallest. As you do these things, over time, your motivation will increase and you will have the power to do more. The important thing is not to dismiss the simple. When a person underestimates something by saying "What's the use of that?" he cannot find the strength to do something bigger. However, the biggest obstacle for a person to achieve something is the desire to do something big. In other words, setting her eyes on the big one. However, movement begins with small steps. Little by little, tiny progress is made. In other words, what leads people to success is to start from the smallest part of the goal. Being on the road step by step carries you to your goal. So come on, take a step from the smallest one!
